The Italian Trade Agency wanted to create awareness around the 5th edition of their ‘Global Startup Program’ in Singapore.
The ‘Global Startup Program‘ supports Italian fintechs to break into new markets across Asia. We were brought in to raise awareness of the program, develop video content and drive media coverage around the ‘demo day’ – the culminating event for the startups to present their businesses to potential investors.
The Challenge
To effectively raise the Italian Trade Agency’s profile as well as their chosen startups, we needed to secure relevant coverage around the ‘demo day’ event. However, it wouldn’t have been enough to position the event itself as ‘news’, we needed to create an engaging story that journalists actually wanted to cover and a reason for them to want to attend.
Our Approach
We tapped into the Italian Trade Agency’s s key spokespeople and identified a theme of an increasing collaboration between Italy and Singapore regarding the fintech industry. We recommended outlining this collaboration as a new ‘FinTech powerhouse’ alluding to further future collaboration between the two countries. We then developed content to communicate this story to key journalists in the Singapore Fintech space offering both interviews and a full press release. We also ensured that this ran through our storyline for the video content at all times.
